Beef short ribs pacific style

1. * cut in 2 to 3-inch lengths place short ribs on a broiler pan.
2. Broil until well-browned to remove excess fat.
3. Transfer to crockery pot.
4. Saute` onion in butter until limp and golden.
5. Pour in catsup, soy sauce, vinegar and brown sugar.
6. Heat until blended.
7. Pour over ribs.
8. Cover.
9. Cook on low 8 hours.
10. Makes 4 servings.
